– The hosts of HBO’s “We’re Here” suggest they might leave after Season 4
– Shangela, Eureka, and Bob the Drag Queen have not confirmed their participation in Season 5
– The show’s creators hope the trio will continue to be involved in “We’re Here” in some capacity
The future of “We’re Here,” HBO’s hit reality series, seems uncertain as its three hosts, Shangela, Eureka, and Bob the Drag Queen, hint at the possibility of exiting after the show’s fourth season. The trio has not yet confirmed their involvement in the show’s fifth season, leaving fans to wonder what lies ahead for the acclaimed series.
In an interview with TVLine, the hosts shared their thoughts on potential changes to the show after its fourth season. Eureka spoke specifically about the possibility of leaving, saying, “You know, there are so many different things that can happen. …There are opportunities that we’ve all been presenting [that] we might have to step away to do. But we’re also family, and we love the show, and we love what it represents.”
Shangela, who is also an executive producer on the show, expressed her hope for the future of “We’re Here,” stating, “I think that what we’ve done in ‘We’re Here’ is we’ve created an opportunity for so many more drag entertainers and people to step into this light. We hope that people are inspired by the show… So, we do hope to continue to be involved in it in some way, shape, form or fashion.”
As for Bob the Drag Queen, they appeared to be open to letting other drag entertainers have a chance at hosting, saying, “The show’s success is very much attached to the three of us… but I don’t mind sharing.”
Ultimately, the show’s creators hope that the three drag queens will continue to play a role in “We’re Here,” even if it’s in a diminished capacity. Executive producer and director Peter LoGreco said in the same TVLine interview, “We love the hosts, obviously. We want them to continue to be involved in the show in any way they can… These are really powerful spirits. So, the more this show can hold onto those spirits, the better we are.”
In the meantime, fans will have to wait and see what changes may or may not happen to the show’s fifth season or how it might affect the dynamics of the three beloved hosts.
