Vin Diesel faces allegations of sexual battery against his former assistant, Asta Jonasson, during the shooting of Fast Five in September 2010. In a lawsuit reported by Vanity Fair, Jonasson claims that after a night of entertaining hostesses in his St. Regis hotel suite, Diesel assaulted her by pulling her onto the bed, groping her breasts, and molesting various parts of her body.
According to the lawsuit, Jonasson managed to escape Diesel’s advances momentarily, but the actor caught up to her and forced her to touch his erect penis. Jonasson, who was recently graduated from film school and employed by Diesel for less than two weeks, was fired hours after the incident by Diesel’s sister, Samantha Vincent, and the president of One Race Films, the production company Diesel founded in 1995.
The lawsuit claims that Jonasson was reluctant to come forward because she had signed a nondisclosure agreement when she was hired by One Race Films, known as One Race Productions. However, Jonasson is now able to take legal action due to the Speak Out Act and California’s AB2777, which allow for the enforcement of NDAs in instances of sexual assault and harassment.
As of now, Vin Diesel and his representatives have not offered a response to the allegations.
