Former X-Men ’97 Writer Shares Scrapped Blade Ideas Pitched to Struggling Marvel Studios

A former writer for X-Men ’97 has disclosed that he once proposed ideas for Blade to Marvel Studios, but they were ultimately shelved.

The writer shared that his ambitious plans for the vampire hunter never saw the light of day because Marvel Studios was in a state of disarray at the time. He had envisioned a storyline that would intertwine Blade’s dark world with other Marvel characters, creating an exciting crossover event. However, due to internal issues and restructuring within Marvel, these plans were abandoned.

“I had this whole arc planned out where Blade would team up with some unexpected heroes,” he said. “It was going to be epic.”

I think it’s a shame when creative ideas get lost due to company politics.

Despite the setback, the writer remains hopeful that one day his vision for Blade might be revisited. He believes that the character has immense potential and could bring a fresh dynamic to the Marvel universe.

In the meantime, fans can only imagine what could have been if those plans had come to fruition.
