The beloved 2006 comedy sequel has received a rather somber update from its stars, Penn Badgley and Brittany Snow.
During a recent interview, Penn and Brittany shared that the much-anticipated follow-up might not happen after all. They explained that despite their enthusiasm and fans’ excitement, various obstacles have made it difficult to move forward with the project. “It’s just not in the cards right now,” Penn admitted, sounding disappointed.
Interestingly, Brittany added that while they both loved working on the original film, the timing and circumstances just haven’t aligned for a sequel. She mentioned that the script had gone through multiple revisions but still didn’t seem quite right. “We want to make sure it’s perfect before we commit,” she said.
I think it’s always tough when something you look forward to doesn’t pan out.
Penn also hinted at other projects keeping them busy, which might be another reason for the delay. He mentioned that both he and Brittany have been involved in various other commitments, making it hard to find time for the sequel. “We’ve got our hands full,” he joked.
